"This chalet was designed to host guests and allow them to share special moments with family and friends."

Named after Jack London’s short story collection Belliou la Fumée, Chalet Belliou proves that sometimes you can judge a book by its cover. Its exterior showcases the precision of craftsmanship and the beauty of carefully selected materials. The meticulous work of Chalets Bayrou and the Compagnons du Devoir is a testament to their expertise in creating a stunning, well-built structure.

The interiors, designed by local architect Angélique Buisson, are just as impressive. Spanning 280 m² over two floors, Chalet Belliou offers four double bedrooms, a dormitory, and an equal number of bathrooms. This charming wooden chalet comfortably accommodates 14 guests, who will appreciate the convenient proximity to the Serre Chevalier slopes and the alpine village of La Salle-les-Alpes. Guests also enjoy a range of high-end services and amenities throughout their stay. And the cherry on top? Rumor has it that a wellness area will soon be added to the chalet.

A chalet
with an Angélique Buisson twist

The living room furniture looks like it was plucked straight from the forest.

The living room furniture looks like it was plucked straight from the forest.

To furnish the chalet’s interiors, Angélique Buisson—whose talent we’ve already admired in a stunning holiday villa in Porto-Vecchio—collaborated with the owner to create a warm and family-friendly home, while paying tribute (in her own way) to the mountain spirit.

Playing with materials like larch wood, wool, leather, and steel, the architect crafted a minimalist decor that highlights the raw textures and breathtaking views of the Guisane valley. The slopes and peaks are framed by large bay windows, offering a stunning backdrop. Design enthusiasts will appreciate the thoughtful details: walls made from wood sections and a transparent fireplace that connects the living room to one of the bedrooms. The balance between contemporary style and the cozy atmosphere creates the perfect alpine retreat.

For the color palette, Angélique Buisson opted for glacier blue, light gray, and taupe, which blend effortlessly with the larch wood interiors. The result? A chalet with raw, natural furnishings that harmonize beautifully with the surrounding landscape.

A family
chalet

This family-friendly chalet has been thoughtfully designed for a smooth and comfortable stay. Conveniently located near the ski slopes and village shops, it also enjoys a peaceful setting at the edge of the forest. It’s not uncommon to spot a deer while enjoying your morning coffee on the terrace. Right next door, large snow-covered fields turn into a perfect playground for sledding enthusiasts, young and old alike.

After a day on the slopes, both kids and adults will appreciate the comfort of returning via the private shuttle—one of the many services offered by the attentive concierge. Ski gear dries off in the ski room while some settle in to watch a cartoon, and others soak in the last rays of sunshine on the terrace. As the day winds down, everyone gathers around the large wooden table—perhaps for a cozy fondue party?

Welcome to
Serre Chevalier

Perched above the village of La Salle-les-Alpes, right in the heart of the Serre Chevalier ski area with its 80 slopes and 60 ski lifts, this chalet offers an unbeatable location. To top it off, the village is situated on the sunniest side of the resort, basking in sunlight throughout the day—perfect for making the most of your alpine getaway.

Just a ten-minute walk from the chalet, the family-friendly and authentic village of La Salle-les-Alpes invites you to take a leisurely stroll. For those seeking adventure, snowkiting, paragliding, mountain biking, and Via Ferrata crossings add a thrilling edge to an unforgettable holiday.

In summer, the pace slows down, embracing the ‘slow mountain’ lifestyle: peaceful walks, hikes, lake swims, and barbecues on the terrace. Every moment is an invitation to explore and rediscover the beauty of the mountains!
