The perfect stylish house in the picturesque village of Uzès

"THE HOUSE FACES THE GARDEN. IT GIVES OFF A COUNTRYSIDE VIBE, EVEN THOUGH IT'S RIGHT IN THE CENTER OF UZÈS."

The Maison du Puisatier is a treasure nestled within one of the top three most coveted streets in Uzès, the Grande Bourgade. Situated in a tranquil part of the historic center, it stands out as a quintessential Uzès house, built from local golden stone. Its high stone walls create an intimate refuge, free from prying eyes, and conceal a stunning outdoor area - a rare luxury in Uzès. The heart of the home is undoubtedly the kitchen: fully equipped, welcoming, and cozy. It's where you gather after market visits (on Wednesday and Saturday mornings!) to unpack baskets full of fresh produce.

The real vacation home
- in town

A jewel of a kitchen at La Maison du Puisatier

The house's  most charming asset: its immersive decor and exposed stone walls! Thoughtfully restored, these elements create a warm and inviting atmosphere, extending from the exterior to the room interiors. This one-story house is ideal for a small group of four adults and two children with its three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The main suite - with its openings above the bed and above the bathtub that reveal the blue sky - is an instant favorite. The ground floor opens directly onto the outside.

Outside, an entire array of amenities awaits: a pool (heated during the season) to cool off, a solarium for relaxed lounging, and a shaded dining area for al fresco meals accompanied by the melodies of birds and cicadas. The garden, with its lush lawn, cacti, and succulents, and sheltered by majestic plane trees, instantly transports you into vacation mode.

A boutique-style house
- thoughtfully designed

The Maison du Puisatier is Anne-Caroline's latest endeavor. A Uzès adoptee, this passionate renovator shares through this freshly renovated living space - opening for the first time this summer 2024! - her love for Uzès, as well as for objects.

Within the Maison, visitors will find Anne-Caroline's personal creations: wicker cicadas (a regional specialty not found anywhere else!) made in France; as well as personal decorative touches, including dried flower bouquets in every room of the house; or even pretty architectural elements designed as a nod to the building, such as the multiple arched niches that Anne-Caroline has designed in reference to the kitchen window and its original stone arch.

But that's not all! Before being able to add these final touches, an extensive restoration was necessary. The house, acquired in 2022, had been abandoned for about thirty years - becoming what Anne-Caroline affectionately calls "a cabinet of curiosities."To restore its original charm, particular attention was paid to the terracotta floor tiles, wooden beams, and the new Provençal tile roof. While emphasizing natural materials (lime walls and furniture sourced locally), comfort played an important role in the project (creation of two modern bathrooms, organic toiletries from Muzzü, linen bedding...).

A starting point
- (difficult to leave)

In love with the region, Anne-Caroline has put together a meticulously curated digital guide for her guests, featuring recommendations for restaurants, shops, and businesses, as well as the best swimming spots and other must-visit locations in Occitania. Just a few kilometers away, the Gardon Gorges - a preserved natural reserve - are accessible for a day of picnicking and swimming. Following a 5 km hike from the village of Russan, Le Castellas presents a breathtaking viewpoint. Finally, the unmissable Pont du Gard is only 15 minutes from the house. In the village, guests can wander through its pedestrianized streets, explore flea markets, browse decorative boutiques, and sample local cuisine. Finally, at home, it's time to enjoy a swim in the pool installed on the submerged beach, splashing around for hours. A relaxing way of life, in sync with the Mediterranean-inspired decor, fostering the quintessential laid-back vibe of southern vacation homes.
