"It's around these 180° views that we created the entire concept of the house. They have been a true anchor point."

Perched in Vence, this villa with jaw-dropping views is strategically positioned between the charming village of Tourettes-sur-Loup and the iconic Maeght Foundation in Saint Paul-de-Vence. Vence, though less celebrated than its neighbors, has earned its stripes as the fourth most beautiful town in Europe according to National Geographic—and it’s easy to see why. The moment you breeze through the stunningly crafted wrought iron gate and meander down a cactus-flanked path, you’re greeted by a mesmerizing 180-degree panorama that’s simply unforgettable. The house itself, along with its tiered gardens, is a feast for the eyes. Thanks to a 2022 makeover by the visionary decorator Julien Perello, who aimed to capture the essence of ‘slow’ living, the property boasts a vibe that’s both exotic and soothing. With its blend of white, wood, and mineral tones, it offers a fresh, modern retreat that invites you to unwind in style.

Nestled within a private estate on multiple levels, this contemporary Provençal villa houses three suites on the upper floor, each opening onto balcony terraces. Downstairs, the layout flows from a cozy fourth suite to dual living spaces and an expansive open-plan kitchen.

This floor seamlessly transitions to an outdoor haven, featuring a terrace fully equipped for leisure and sprawling across 1900 m² of terraced gardens. These gardens pay homage to the regional “baous,” limestone mountain terraces that naturally segment the outdoor space into distinct areas. Here, an infinity pool on the main terrace, a tucked-away petanque court, and various nooks with sun loungers under olive trees or an outdoor canopy bed offer serene escapes. Amidst these terraces, the garden thrives with a mix of cacti, cica-agave-citrus, and grasses, each contributing to a landscape full of energy, volume, and dynamism.

Perched on the highest terrace, the outdoor dining area becomes the perfect spot for scenic lunches and breezy summer dinners under the stars. The property’s outdoor lighting, carefully crafted with stunning wall lamps by a Greek artist, beautifully highlights this botanical paradise, creating an enchanting atmosphere day and night.

Somewhere between Bali
and Provence

Les Restanques offers a vibrant tableau of Mediterranean nature: the village of Saint-Paul-de-Vence sprawling across the field, the lights of the sea at Cap d’Antibes, the Esterel massif, and its exceptional sunset.

This villa blends Provençal charm with exotic flair, featuring driftwood-crafted railings and garden furniture. At the pool, teak sun loungers from an Indonesian artisan sit beneath straw parasols, nearly touching the water. The pool is adorned with Balinese tiles, with colors and reflections that are almost mesmerizing when its saltwater meets the sun’s rays.

The exterior may beckon to leisure, but the interior wraps you in a visual embrace. Inside, mineral tones set the stage for a harmony of materials: wood, travertine, and walls coated with lime. Local craftsmanship shines here, from the initial welcome at the gate to the inviting openness of the main door, culminating in a stunning three-meter dining table of burnt wood and hammered wrought iron.

A carefully crafted
Decor

This table, the heart of the lower floor, links the villa’s two lounges. The spacious lounge, bathed in light through a large glass window, features cozy Gervasoni sofas draped in white linen. On the opposite end, the fireplace lounge presents a snug setting with its window overlooking Saint-Paul. It contrasts sharply with a dark wood coffee table against white wool loop sofas, custom-designed for their curvy shapes. The original fireplace, preserved and accentuated with a bespoke structure, adds depth and sophistication to the room.

The bedrooms, true havens of peace, each offer their own atmosphere. The master bedroom seduces with its volumes, monumental door, and imposing headboard. The adjoining bathroom is a gem: it features a bathtub in front of an oak-detailed glass partition and a shower with massage jets. The second suite, named “Chambre Naturelle,” highlights natural fibers on the night side, white waxed concrete in its bathroom, and two huge floor-to-ceiling mirrors. The “Chambre Baldaquin” offers an intimate and elegant atmosphere, with its canopy bed and Versailles parquet flooring, while the bathroom showcases terracotta, locally produced. The fourth suite was designed with a “southern” spirit: louvered doors and subtle touches of yellow. The bathroom is also adorned in yellow with custom-made terracotta tiles produced by the Versace workshop.
