A family home in the heart of Alsace

"The house exudes an incredibly warm atmosphere, perfectly designed to host large groups eager to explore a region that truly deserves more recognition!"

Once the beloved home of their mother and grandmother, Claudia and her parents, Sabine and Denis, have lovingly transformed 41 Rue du Ladhof in Colmar into a stunning family retreat, perfect for making cherished memories. Spanning 250 m², the house boasts four suites and a dormitory, offering an ideal space for holiday gatherings and an excellent base to explore the region's enchanting Christmas markets. In summer, the charm of this townhome shines just as brightly, with a spacious 30 m² terrace perfect for unwinding and savoring the season.

Inside this 1930s building, the décor seamlessly blends Moroccan craftsmanship, family heirlooms, and contemporary touches, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Thoughtfully designed, Maison 41 provides plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy without feeling crowded. Children can make the playroom and dormitory their personal retreat, while adults gather for an aperitif, preparing a delicious Alsatian dinner together in the spacious open kitchen.

Before becoming Maison 41, this charming townhouse was part of Claudia’s family history. Once owned by her grandmother, who lived across the street with her parents before leaving Alsace for Morocco and eventually returning, the house holds a special place in their hearts. After her grandmother’s passing, Claudia and her parents decided to transform the home into a vacation retreat, preserving its family legacy.

With Denis working in construction, it was only natural for him to lead the renovation. Together, they reimagined the house while honoring its original character, retaining features like the beautiful solid oak flooring. The attic was converted into a dormitory, the kitchen was completely redesigned and opened up to the dining area, and a large window was added to flood the space with natural light. The terrace was also enhanced with wood, creating a welcoming outdoor space. The result? A home that beautifully combines its original charm with thoughtful updates, reflecting the deep connection its owners share with the property.

A perfect balance
between Morocco and Alsace

The interior decor of Maison 41 strikes a perfect balance between old and new, blending Alsatian and Moroccan influences. While the bedding is all brand-new (and hotel-worthy!), the rest of the furniture has been carefully curated, reflecting the family’s love for antiques and objects with history. Even the dining table tells a story, with guests enjoying local specialties on charming Alsatian plates passed down from Claudia’s grandmother.

Adding her own personal touch, Claudia incorporated souvenirs from her four years in Morocco: warm-patterned rugs, custom-made seats, and decorative small baskets. The bathrooms are particularly striking, featuring tiles inspired by zellige and unique details like wooden ladders and handcrafted stools. Family heirlooms merge effortlessly with modern elements, such as elegant lighting, including a Gervasoni Brass pendant light, and textiles from Haomy.
