In the heart of the Périgord Noir—where cliffs, forests and medieval fortresses meet—lies a hidden gem: Le Petit Bois, a holiday home tucked away in the Domaine du Bois de Selves. Once the château de Marqueyssac’s old farmstead, it blends rustic charm with refined comfort, set amid a generous swath of unspoiled nature. Prepare for a stay that feels straight out of a fairy tale.

A Périgord hideaway made for reconnecting with nature
Every detail of the decor has been thoughtfully curated—with charming little surprises tucked into every room!
Dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries, Maison Cazenac is where tradition and modern comfort come together seamlessly. Perfect for families or groups of friends, the house features four spacious bedrooms, a cosy living room, a fully equipped kitchen, and three bathrooms—including one just for kids, complete with an adorable sink at their height.
Every corner of the house exudes warmth and authenticity, with heirloom furniture, brushed wood floors in the living room, and vintage treasures lovingly curated by Nathalie, the owner—all adding soul and character to the space. From the pool, a breathtaking panoramic view stretches across the valley to the majestic Château de Beynac. It’s the kind of place where you feel instantly at ease, where switching off comes effortlessly.
A journey
through time

In the courtyard, tanning session between the rose bushes and the stone walls.
This house is, above all, a story of passion and family. Just a few years ago, Nathalie and Denis—both locals—fell in love with this historic gem and made it their own. From the very beginning, they were committed to preserving its authenticity while giving it a gentle, modern touch. The original bread oven still works—a charming nod to days gone by.
One of the highlights of the renovation was stripping away the plaster to reveal the beautiful cut stone typical of the Périgord. The walls seem to whisper stories from centuries past, with every architectural detail lovingly preserved to honor the soul of the place.
A little
something special
The renovation of Maison Cazenac was carried out with meticulous attention to detail. Nathalie and Denis set out to create a warm, inviting atmosphere that blends modern comfort with vintage charm—incorporating period features like antique taps and basins, and Fontini light switches. It’s those little touches that give a home its soul.
The traditional pisé flooring was carefully restored, and the original staircase sandblasted to reveal its former glory.
Each room has its own personality, thanks to Nathalie’s curated vintage finds and cherished family treasures—from old plates to her grandmother’s perfume bottles. The result? A home where every detail feels considered, striking just the right balance between old-world charm and contemporary ease.

Even the beds are beautifully detailed.
