A stunning palazzo in Puglia

"Palazzo San Vito is in the heart of the village, just 25 minutes from the beach."

Located in the heart of Salento, Palazzo San Vito is a striking example of how history and modernity can seamlessly coexist. Built in 1850 by a local noble family, the palazzo was lived in for a century before being abandoned for nearly fifty years. In 2020, Fabio, the current owner and a passionate admirer of Puglia, purchased the property. Undaunted by the scale of the renovation, he partnered with Valari Architects to restore Palazzo San Vito to its former splendor.

The result is a beautifully restored palazzo that retains its historic charm while providing all the modern comforts expected on a vacation. With four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a delightful garden enclosed by high walls, and a pool surrounded by the fragrant scent of orange trees, the palazzo feels like something out of a classic Italian film.

The architecture of Palazzo San Vito is a subtle blend of historical charm and modern design. The meticulous 2024 renovation, led by architects Nicolo and Federica of Valari Architects, aimed to create an intimate and secluded retreat. Their priority? To harmonize spacious indoor and outdoor areas while preserving the convenience of village life, with cafés, grocery stores, and patisseries just a short walk away.

The layout was designed to offer privacy, with bedrooms positioned in each of the four corners of the property. The central courtyard was envisioned as a convivial gathering space, connecting spacious living rooms, a dining area, and an open kitchen that opens directly to the large garden and pool.

At the heart of the palazzo, the expansive garden—designed by landscaper Gabriele Fanuli—invites relaxation: a nap in the shade of a tree, a coffee by the pool... You could spend your entire vacation here without a single complaint!

The heart
of the palazzo
