Once a hub of agricultural trade — grain, fertilizer, and machinery — Schuur 80 lay dormant for decades.

In 2021, current owners Karel and Marijke decided it was time to breathe new life into the old barn. Over the course of three years, and in collaboration with architect Bram Schelstraete of Studio M&S, they transformed the rustic structure into a 300-square-meter contemporary residence — all without compromising its original soul. The historic walls were preserved, the old barn doors replaced with panoramic windows that blur the line between indoors and out, and the interior reimagined with a warm, light-filled loft aesthetic. A graceful fusion of rural heritage and modern comfort.

The moment you step through the door at Schuur 80, it feels like home. The spaces are generous, yet the atmosphere stays cozy: two spacious living rooms, a professional kitchen, four inviting bedrooms, three bathrooms (one with a hot tub), a private cinema, a pool table, and a bar with sweeping views over the fields.

Everything is air-conditioned, fully connected, and tastefully appointed. The décor blends raw wood, quality materials, and contemporary touches. It’s the kind of place where you’ll happily curl up by the fire with a book, sip a drink at the bar, or play with the kids in the game room. Every detail has been carefully considered to help you unwind. And the cherry on top? A hot tub tucked away in the wild orchard — the kind of spot you’ll never want to leave.
