"In the Mediterranean garden, palm and pine trees create very pleasant shaded areas, while numerous fruit trees offer guests lemons, peaches, figs, and persimmons, depending on the season."
At Tenuta Borgia, you’ll find a quintessential example of traditional Mediterranean architecture. With its seven 18th-century dammusi—available individually for rent or together to accommodate 24 guests—along with its vineyards, olive groves, and impressive Arabic garden, it’s the perfect base for exploring the lesser-known island of Pantelleria.
The island itself is a well-preserved Mediterranean gem, offering exceptional natural landscapes, lava rocks plunging into the sea, small coves ideal for underwater exploration, and hot springs. In such a remarkable setting, the accommodations are equally exceptional. Tenuta Borgia provides all the comforts guests could wish for: a park, pools, expansive terraces, a summer kitchen, a barbecue, and a host of services for a truly perfect vacation. Benvenuti alla Tenuta Borgia!
A family home
On clear days, Tunisia is visible.
The story of Tenuta Borgia begins with Rosa Borgia Baroness Collice. Over 40 years ago, as a young bride, she was in search of a family estate when she discovered and fell in love with the property. Together with her husband Massimo and architect Gabriella Giuntoli, she embarked on the renovation of the seven dammusi.
To preserve their authenticity, they used traditional dry-stone masonry techniques, with no mortar between the stones that form the walls. The vaulted ceilings, which enhance the charm of the interiors, were thoughtfully retained. For the floors, Rosa Borgia Baroness Collice enlisted local artisans to handcraft antique tiles. When it came to decoration, she carefully selected each piece herself. The result is a harmonious blend of modern and vintage furniture.
The perfect spot for leisurely meals.
Love at Tenuta Borgia
At night, one marvels at the starry sky.
Tenuta Borgia is a place full of memories for Rosa Borgia Baroness Collice. Today, it’s the guests who fall under the spell of this exceptional place and create their own unforgettable moments there.
‘It has always been about love: from the very beginning, when Massimo and I were newlyweds and came to Pantelleria for the first time. It’s still about love today: I am no longer young, and I am no longer a wife, but I have decided to leave Pantelleria to someone who will love it as much as we did.’
A green paradise
on a volcanic island
At Tenuta Borgia, the highlight is the expansive estate, where vineyards and olive trees thrive. It’s highly recommended to sample the local Passito wine and extra virgin olive oil produced right on-site. The magnificent Arabic garden, also known as the Andalusian garden—characterized by its symmetry, water features, flower beds, fruit trees, fences, and restful areas—invites guests to enjoy leisurely strolls.
Noteworthy for its impressive size and enclosed by tall lava stone walls, this park is home to citrus trees, palm trees, pines, bougainvilleas, and other fragrant flowers that endlessly enchant the senses. “The garden at Tenuta Borgia is considered the most beautiful on the island of Pantelleria.” We have no doubt! Scattered throughout the garden, wooden benches invite quiet contemplation of this serene oasis. And at night, after a hearty dinner, a stroll under the stars is an absolute must.
Everywhere, the vibrant pink of bougainvilleas.
"Tenuta Borgia offers a splendid view of the sea and the surrounding Mediterranean park."

The possibility of an island
Between land and sea, the island of Pantelleria.
The residents of Pantelleria are careful not to boast about their beloved island, and it’s easy to see why! With its stunning landscapes, Mediterranean climate, and local cuisine, this gem could quickly become overrun with tourists. Yet, it maintains a wonderfully authentic and preserved atmosphere, making it an ideal vacation spot.
For travelers who have flown or sailed to Pantelleria, the adventure begins. Explore the winding streets of the historic village of Scauri, enjoy snorkeling, swim in turquoise coves or the island’s hot springs, embark on a boat trip, take a horseback ride, and savor l’ammogghiu—a delicious sauce made from raw tomatoes, garlic, olive oil, capers, basil, almonds, oregano, and chili. The possibilities here are (almost) endless!
