A Basque haven in Arcangues
"A unique, tranquil property in the heart of the Basque countryside, just minutes from Biarritz. Enjoy a pool house, pétanque court, swimming pool, tennis, and absolute comfort for the whole family."
Built in 1905, the house was once part of the residence of Abbé Soulange Bodin, parish priest of Notre-Dame du Travail and Saint-Honoré d’Eylau, who came here to enjoy his holidays. Today, an adjoining chapel bears witness to that era and is accessible upon request from the owners.
A place steeped in history, yet still exuding modern life. Originally the stables of the adjoining château, the house has retained its original charm while reinventing itself to welcome families and friends seeking a countryside getaway, balancing relaxation with activities.
A real
Basque house
The exterior retains the typical Basque features, with the subtle addition of two dormer windows and a tower window for the office. Inside, however, it’s a whole different story: local architect Fabrice Delettre redesigned the spaces to create a high-end holiday rental, while the owner and interior designer Alison Bordmann infused it with a contemporary yet authentic atmosphere.
Each bedroom has its own personality, each bathroom offers absolute comfort. The furniture, carefully selected from local artisans, reflects a strong regional and artistic approach. Modern touches coexist with Basque charm—a subtle blend where style meets comfort.

White walls, red shutters, and red siding. There's no doubt about it, we're in the Basque Country.

The Basque Country
within easy reach

White walls, red shutters, and red siding. There's no doubt about it, we're in the Basque Country.
Located in the village of Arcangues, just minutes from Biarritz, the house nestles within a wooded park where the garden, designed by landscaper Pierre Alexandre Risser, provides an enchanting setting. Guests can enjoy the heated pool, fully equipped pool house, pétanque court, and even tennis. Food and shopping enthusiasts are only a few minutes away from the Docks and local restaurants.
The region is full of charm: beaches, the Arcangues golf course, hiking trails, and excursions along the Basque coast or into the hinterland offer a wide range of activities for every taste. Whether you prefer lounging by the pool or exploring the surroundings, there’s something for every holiday ritual.
