A slice of paradise in Andalusia

"The real showstopper? That jaw-dropping view of the Axarquía mountains."

At Villa Pepita — part of the Las Tres Casas collection, along with the beautiful Casa Habiba and Casa Maru — life is lived high above it all, in a home perched over the olive groves and mountains of the Axarquía. With four bedrooms, Villa Pepita comfortably hosts up to ten guests, all set to soak up the laid-back Andalusian lifestyle. Inside, everything’s been thoughtfully arranged: air conditioning, a wood-burning stove, a fully equipped kitchen, games, speakers, and high-speed internet — perfect for remote work... or a complete digital detox.

Step outside, and you’re in nature’s playground: a heated pool, a summer kitchen, a pergola with golden mountain views, a pétanque court, a kids’ playhouse, and a terrace made for yoga — or aperitifs, depending on the hour. And then there’s the outdoor lounge, hands down the owners’ favorite spot: “It’s where we truly unwind, with the mountains as our backdrop.”

From Antwerp to Andalusia,
it's just a heartbeat away...

Who do we have to thank for Villa Pepita? Mike and Simone — a Belgian couple of restaurateurs who swapped Antwerp for Andalusia. They arrived almost by chance and fell head over heels for this sunny corner of Spain.

Between busy shifts, they were on the lookout for a peaceful retreat. And there, at the end of a dirt road, with a view that stops you in your tracks, they found it: Villa Pepita. “We climbed up, took in the view… and instantly knew this was the place we’d been searching for,” they say. From there, it was just a matter of (re)creating the perfect escape.

An open-air
renovation

To reimagine the house, Simone drew on her self-taught interior design skills. “I had a clear vision: keep the soul of the place while making it comfortable for our guests.” The result? A joyful blend of vintage finds and one-of-a-kind touches. “We wanted people to feel at home the moment they arrived.” Mission accomplished — every room radiates warmth, simplicity, and an easygoing charm.

The style is boho chic, with just the right amount of personality. And it’s all in the details: an old armchair reupholstered in linen, a raw wood shelf, a plush rug, a vinyl collection that sets the perfect holiday tone. More recently, the kitchen and dining area got a fresh new look. With an XXL countertop and an outdoor plancha, everything’s set up to whip up some tasty local dishes — maybe even a tapas party?

How to
Andalusia?

Around the villa, the possibilities are endless. Hike the scenic trails that wind around Maroma, explore the charming white villages, or soak up the local culture with the dramatic Semana Santa processions and vibrant romería horse parades.

For those who prefer to take it slow, there’s really no need to venture far. With a summer kitchen, pétanque court, ping-pong table, pool, cozy armchairs and loungers, all surrounded by lush nature... The cherry on top? Custom services available upon request: a Michelin-starred chef from the Netherlands and on-site wellness massages. Simone says many guests don’t leave the house for the entire week — and honestly, we get it!
