Holidays, the Maisons Dominos way
Masters in the art of hospitality, Audrey and Antoine Colombani—architecture and design enthusiasts with a flair for group getaways—keep unveiling irresistible holiday homes you’ll want to return to again and again. After Guéthary, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, and Saint-Gervais-les-Bains, it’s now Marseille’s turn to welcome the latest addition: Domino Trois. On this occasion, the founders of the Maisons Dominos collection reflect on the story behind their “string of charming holiday homes (each one unique), available to rent across France.”
Holidays, the Maisons Dominos way
In the city, the countryside, by the sea, or in the mountains… With Maisons Dominos, it’s a bit like finding your dream second home—minus the hassle. A thoughtfully curated collection of homes, perfect for memorable stays with family or friends, where the word “hospitality” truly comes to life.
Perfectly designed, these homes tick all the right boxes—each one more beautiful than the last, warm, comfortable, and effortlessly inviting. In short, the kind of places that make you want to drop your bags… and never pack them again.
Meet Audrey Colombani, one half of Maisons Dominos and an endlessly inspiring host.
Audrey, can you tell us a bit about your background and how Maisons Dominos came to be?
Audrey: I started out in finance and founded my own insurance firm 14 years ago. At the same time, my husband and I began buying houses—renovating them and selling them on. One of those was in Guéthary, and it brought in a wave of compliments. Every time, the feedback was overwhelmingly positive, especially about how each home had a real soul. Later, Antoine had the opportunity to buy a plot of land in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, where we built Domino Deux and decided to rent it out.
Antoine, who’s a big podcast fan, once listened to an episode featuring the founders of Iconic House and felt a real connection with their vision. That’s when we started thinking seriously about creating a collection—a brand, with a name and a clear identity. We brought in Grégoire Boulant to help us bring that vision to life.
The funny thing is, the very first apartment we ever renovated—almost 20 years ago, down by the harbor—had been nicknamed “Domino” by the property manager. So when Grégoire suggested Maisons Dominos as the name, it felt like everything had come full circle. I loved it instantly.

“We’re very much a team, my husband and I. I tend to focus on the interior design and the brand’s image, while he takes care of the renovation work.”

What makes a “Maison Domino” unique?
Audrey: Above all, it’s about feeling at home. Each house has its own soul—guests feel instantly at ease. There’s a certain atmosphere, and the décor is unique to every space.

How do you manage to create an atmosphere that’s both unique and consistent across each home?
Audrey: The coherence really comes from the vintage pieces—I love hunting for them, especially anything from the 1970s. I’ve always believed there’s nothing more beautiful than old objects. I even created a cushion brand once, called Maison Madeleine. For me, vintage items are like a kind of madeleine de Proust—they spark childhood memories. That’s what I try to evoke for guests staying in the Maisons Dominos.
In every house—except for the one in Marseille—there’s always a dormitory, which adds to the family-friendly, welcoming feel. All the kids gather there, play together, and create those small, shared moments that build connection. I think that’s what people really love about these homes: the vintage vibe, the nostalgia, the sense of togetherness. And the decor feels special because I’m not afraid to take risks.
How do you balance style and comfort?
Audrey: My husband is a huge fan of hotels—what matters most to him is a comfortable bed and a TV in the room! During renovations, he’s all about the comfort. He makes sure every detail is in place so guests feel at ease and completely at home—but better.

What makes a successful holiday home, in your opinion?
Audrey: When you’re not afraid of damaging or breaking something! To me, a home should be lived in. Yes, we have beautiful pieces in the houses, but I trust that guests will be careful and respectful—and they always have been.

Do you have a favorite house in the collection?
Audrey: I have to admit, Domino Un in Guéthary is my favorite, because it was the first one. We have so many family and friends memories there!
