A pied-à-terre to embrace the Andalusian lifestyle

"It's simply the perfect stay to relax in Sevilla!"

Casa Calma is no ordinary home. Built in 1896, it has stood the test of time, remaining in the same family for over two centuries. “My father was born here — as were my grandparents, and even my great-great-grandparents,” says the owner, proud to carry on the legacy. In 1949, the house took on its current form, before undergoing a full renovation between 2021 and 2022.

Every brick, every tile tells a story — especially the original Mozarabic tiles crafted by the Mensaque family, iconic artisans from Triana. Today, Casa Calma is the perfect hideaway for guests to unwind and soak up the Andalusian sun, whether lounging on one of the terraces or cooling off in the charming white-stone plunge pool.

The renovation was passionately led by the owner himself, who took great care to preserve the soul of the house while giving it a modern touch. “I wanted to keep its Mozarabic and Andalusian essence, while blending in contemporary, comfortable elements,” he explains. The result? An eclectic interior where vintage charm and modern design live in perfect harmony.

Outside, the garden is a true invitation to relax: a columned porch, antique brick arches, and a small cascading pool set the scene. For those who love to lounge, there’s a Balinese bed under the Andalusian sun, a hammock for slow afternoons, and even a rooftop fire pit to complete the picture. “What makes Casa Calma truly special? The peace and serenity,” says the owner.

"The lemon tree in the garden has been there for over 30 years and still produces the perfect lemons for cocktails and homemade lemonade."

Holidays
in Séville

Tucked away in one of Seville’s most peaceful neighborhoods, near Europe’s only inland marina, Casa Calma is also the perfect base for exploring the region’s many treasures. Food lovers won’t want to miss the cozy little tapas spot just across the river — a personal favorite of the owner. For the curious, the city is full of delights: winding alleyways, vibrant markets, and must-see historic landmarks.

After a full day of discovery, returning to the villa is pure joy — whether it’s curling up in the hammock or enjoying a quiet evening by the outdoor fire pit, dreaming of your next Andalusian adventure.

After a day exploring Seville, it’s back to the casa for a well-deserved night’s rest.
