Just outside Gstaad, this 18th-century chalet has been transformed into a luxury retreat that blends old-world charm with high-end comfort and a modern mountain spirit. It is a place where you can move effortlessly from snow-covered slopes to a steaming hot tub.
An alpine gem in the Gstaad valley
“We were featured in Vogue in January 2025. This chalet is exceptional and offers a true glimpse into the refinement of alpine living.”
Built in 1775 and once home to violinist Yehudi Menuhin, founder of the renowned Gstaad Menuhin Festival, Chalet Saanen is much more than a holiday rental. With 500 m² of space, eight bedrooms, and two living rooms, it offers hospitality on a grand scale while preserving the charm of traditional Saanenland homes with low ceilings, weathered wood, and hand-painted doors.
From the very first visit, the owner fell in love with the original details and was determined to preserve them. Mission accomplished. Behind its centuries-old façade, the chalet has been given a new lease on life.
A renovation
that hits all the right notes

Welcome to Chalet Saanen!
Nine months of work led by a local architecture firm reinvented the space without betraying its soul. The walls still carry the patina of aged wood, while the fittings have been modernized with the finesse of a maestro. The result is a home that reflects both the weight of history and the lightness of a ski escape.
Alpine interiors
with five-star comfort
When it comes to décor, every detail was chosen by the owner. Vintage alpine furniture, Austrian and French finds, and bespoke pieces by local artisans come together to create a truly unique atmosphere.
The chalet also offers top-of-the-line amenities: an open kitchen for spontaneous feasts, living rooms with fireplaces, a panoramic terrace, and the ultimate wellness trio of sauna, hot tub, and cold plunge.

After a day of skiing, we slip into the hotel bedding.
A nature-and-culture
getaway

All year round, you can enjoy the outdoors and the panoramic mountain views.
Beyond its walls, the chalet opens onto a vast landscape: snow-covered mountains in winter, turquoise lakes and green pastures in summer. Hiking trails begin right at the doorstep, and the ski slopes are only a few minutes away by car.
For those who prefer cafés and bars to black runs, Gstaad is just three minutes away, with fine dining and elegant boutiques. Either way, it is hard to resist the charm of this valley, where you feel both timeless and at the height of comfort.
