The perfect kid-friendly holiday home

"More often than not, the kids never want to leave the playroom — it becomes their little kingdom, while the grown-ups soak up some well-earned downtime upstairs."

Welcome to Cournonterral, a charming winegrowing village in the South of France, where cobbled lanes and the song of cicadas set the scene. Nestled here is Maison 432Hz — a former 1826 winegrower’s house that’s traded its wine vats for a pool, its tools for toys, and its barrels for a tongue drum.

It’s the kind of place you come to reconnect, unwind, and most of all — let go. “I imagined this house as a sanctuary, a space where every family member can finally breathe,” says Sandra, the owner and creator of this truly unique spot. The holiday plan? Wild beaches just 15 minutes away, bike rides through the vineyards, and a wander through Montpellier’s buzzing Marché du Lez. Prefer to stay in? Book an in-house massage, try a family yoga session — or simply do absolutely nothing at all.

Before becoming a seriously stylish holiday home, Maison 432Hz was a true working winegrower’s house — with stone walls, century-old beams, and wine vats carved straight into the ground. These days, the grapes have given way to giggles, and the kids have claimed the ground floor as their domain. There’s a cozy dorm-style bedroom, a shower tucked into a former vat, and — the crown jewel — an immersive playroom that’s part jungle gym, part creative studio, part mini cinema.

While the little ones live their best life in full autonomy, the grown-ups retreat upstairs: two air-conditioned bedrooms with refined style, a sun-drenched living room with cathedral ceilings, a chef-worthy kitchen, and a spa-style bathroom that invites you to slow down and soak it all in.

Children
are kings

At Maison 432Hz, everything has been thoughtfully designed to lighten the mental load. Baby gear, a baby monitor, a children’s library, board games, a Snoezelen sensory space — and even a homemade little surprise hidden somewhere in the house for each child!

Behind the project is Sandra, a mother of two with a heartfelt desire to create a space for pause, connection, and togetherness. After navigating a path marked by personal challenges, she envisioned this home through the calming lens of the 432Hz frequency. “I wanted a house that vibrates differently — a space where you can reconnect with yourself and with each other.”

She teamed up with Montpellier-based architect Filip Trajkovski, and together they breathed new life into the old stone walls — softening their edges, choosing natural materials, and crafting a poetic, soothing interior. Special mention goes to the EPDM shock-absorbing flooring (a rare gem in family homes) and standout design touches like the Chlorophilia II light fixture floating above the staircase.
