The art of living well in biarritz
"The villa boasts a perfect location: you can do everything on foot in the heart of Biarritz."
Maison Résaurie welcomes its guests like old friends. located just steps from Miramar Beach, beside the vibrant Saint Charles district and overlooking the Hôtel du Palais, this grand villa, designed in 1922 by architect Benjamin Gomez, is woven into the history of Biarritz. here, the experience is that of a generous, inspiring home, with discreet service that lets you fully embrace the space.
Emmanuel Cazals de Fabel, the proud owner, sums up the spirit of the house simply: “we wanted to create a place where you feel immediately at ease, like in a family home you return to every summer.” Maison Résaurie is part of the Les Maisons Fabel collection, offering an invitation to enjoy refined, welcoming holidays deeply rooted in their region.
Les Maisons Fabel,
distinctive residences by the ocean
Les Maisons Fabel were born from a love of architecture and places steeped in history. Each house is selected for its character, its prime location, and its connection to local heritage. Renovations respect the original elements while incorporating the contemporary comforts expected today.
“A Fabel house should tell a story from the moment you step inside,” explains Emmanuel Cazals de Fabel. “It should be beautiful, well‑situated, but above all, alive and inhabited by a soul.” The living spaces are designed as central, welcoming areas, perfect for reunions, shared meals, and the moments that become cherished holiday memories.

In each of the Les Maisons Fabel, art takes center stage.
Iconic architecture
and art‑filled interiors

One of the villa’s eight bedrooms
Designed by Benjamin Gomez, a leading architect of the Basque Country, Maison Résaurie reveals its remarkable architecture from the moment you step inside. A sculptural staircase immediately sets the tone and leads you through the house. Light moves freely from room to room, enhanced by custom-designed lighting fixtures.
The kitchen forms the true heart of the home. Gathered around a large table and a Bulthaup kitchen designed as much for cooking as for sharing, days begin naturally and often linger. A mosaic whale by artist Garance recalls Biarritz’s close relationship with the ocean, while blue-toned cement tiles echo the nearby shoreline.
The living rooms unfold in three distinct atmospheres. The first, filled with light, celebrates Basque identity with a work by Pablo Elizaga and a large family table. The central salon invites guests to gather around generous sofas and carefully curated collections, from vintage eyewear to antique ceramics. More intimate, the Impératrice Eugénie lounge offers a quieter retreat around the fireplace.
The eight bedrooms each tell their own story. Every room reflects a facet of the Basque Country or its history and is deliberately free of televisions, encouraging calm and reflection. From the arrival of surfing in Biarritz in 1956 to Basque pelota, from imperial haute couture to the emigrant routes to Buenos Aires, each space brings together artworks, iconic furniture, and bespoke pieces. These bedrooms are conceived as stationary journeys, each capturing a place and a moment in time.
Tailored services
and local experiences
Maison Résaurie offers attentive, personalized hospitality. A dedicated staff member accompanies your stay, whether it’s booking a restaurant, arranging sports activities, or planning experiences for children. In summer, breakfast prepared with local products and daily housekeeping are included. The house also features a heated pool, outdoor spaces for barbecues from the first sunny days, and a hidden area entirely devoted to children, filled with games, books, and room for imagination.
Biarritz and the Basque Country offer an endless playground. From wild or sheltered beaches and surfing at legendary spots, to village strolls and the discovery of local craftsmanship such as cheese, Espelette pepper, or Basque textiles, to introductions to pelota or excursions to Saint Jean de Luz and San Sebastian, there is always something to explore. “Our role is also to guide our guests toward the most authentic experiences the region has to offer,” explains Emmanuel Cazals de Fabel. “Simple yet memorable moments, far from the usual tourist routes.” Maison Résaurie embodies a certain vision of holidays in Biarritz, a place to slow down, share time together, and let yourself be carried by the spirit of the Basque coast.

In summer or winter, Biarritz is perfect for a holiday.
