Just an hour from Paris, on the banks of the Seine, Rive turns your getaway into a bucolic escape. This fully renovated 19th-century residence pays tribute to Impressionism while embracing a contemporary spirit.
A Norman home that reinvents the Impressionist dream
“It’s a dream house—one you never need to leave to feel perfectly content, yet perfectly placed for a boat ride or water-skiing on the Seine, paragliding, a Norman cider tasting at Vergers d’Orgeville, or dinner at La Ferme de la Haute Crémonville.”
Rive—so named because the Seine runs just beyond the garden—is the first property in Side House, the new collection of Hospitality Homes created by Thibaud Elzière, Juliette Fossorier, and Robert Jamhouri. Their ambition: to create a category of hospitality that didn’t yet exist in France, an ideal in-between combining the warmth of a family home with the exacting standards of a hotel.
“A house you truly live in, yet where you have nothing to manage," sums up Juliette Fossorier. With Rive, they launch a collection of unique properties, set in the country’s most beautiful landscapes, fully renovated and run by the brand. It’s a way to offer guests a simple promise: nothing to do, but everything to experience.
The story of a Norman residence
perched on the Seine
Built in 1850, this grand bourgeois residence is set in a landscape that would have made any Impressionist painter envious. And indeed: Monet, Renoir, and their friends once drew inspiration here. At the end of the 19th century, the banks of the Seine in Muids buzzed with joyful energy—lively guinguettes, waterside lunches, and bourgeois fêtes immortalized on canvas.
Rive seems to have captured this spirit with flair. Fully restored, it now offers seven en-suite bedrooms, expansive living spaces, a children’s garden, a private dock for boating or water-skiing, and a park whose light shifts throughout the day. “We wanted to preserve the soul and charm of the place while offering the absolute comfort of our time,” explain the founders. The result is a success: Rive reinterprets the fantasy of the Norman country house without ever resorting to pastiche.

a house designed as a work of art

From the moment you step inside, it becomes clear that Rive is more than a beautiful house. It has a story to share. The colour palette was created in collaboration with Ressource, some of the materials come from Métaphores, and the vintage pieces, carefully chosen through Selency, give each room its own character.
Art is everywhere, yet never overwhelming. It plays with the light and the proportions of the house. In the living room, a triptych by Marion Chesnais adds a quiet strength. Quentin Tourbez’s photographs open onto poetic landscapes. And the large mural by Iris Cabos follows the staircase upwards, guiding you to a window seat with a hypnotic view of the Seine. Half observatory, half hideaway, this little corner has quickly become one of the guests’ favourite places. « The house does not anchor itself in a specific period. It extends a perspective, the one of the Impressionists », the team explains.
Comfort reinvented:
a house where you can do everything—or nothing at all
At Rive, every space has been created to balance pleasure, relaxation, work, rest and play. The eighteen metre indoor pool is ideal for swimming or simply drifting in the calm water, while the sauna and cold plunge, both with panoramic views of the Seine, offer a wonderful boost of energy. The cinema room, paired with a gaming space filled with video games, brings out everyone’s competitive side.
For quieter moments, a dedicated room holds a bar sourced from Drouot and painted in soft Impressionist tones. Remote workers are also well looked after, with a fully equipped meeting room, flawless WiFi and several flexible areas for solo focus or collaborative work, all before stepping outside to breathe by the river or slip into the pool.
To complete the stay, Side House offers optional daily housekeeping, breakfast served each morning and access to chefs, masseurs, nannies or caterers. It is the very definition of quiet luxury.

Throughout the house, cozy nooks for napping, reading, or chatting… © November Studio
