Villa Artegoikoa is, above all, a family story. Gontzal and Txaber, the cheerful owners, created it as a tribute to their grandfather, who dedicated his life to woodworking. Back in 2002, he had the house built, blending his love of wood with local stone to craft a space that feels both timeless and inviting.
This project was born from a dream, years of hard work, and the desire to honour our grandfather, whose memory inspires us every day,” they explain. Lovingly restored, the villa is now a peaceful haven for anyone seeking serenity and beauty. It accommodates up to ten guests, who can soak in panoramic views of nature and the deep sense of calm that surrounds the place.
Renovate
& modernize
While the house has a definite old-world charm, it has been modernized over the years. The latest major renovation took place recently, with particular attention given to the creation of two contemporary microcement bathrooms, designed by one of Spain's top architects.
A modern touch that blends perfectly with the villa's rustic features – the beautiful spiral staircase, exposed beams, and stone walls. “We wanted to add a contemporary touch while respecting the soul of the place,” stresses Txaber. And we pulled it off!

The decor of Villa Artegoikoa is a happy blend of traditional charm and modern, top-of-the-line comforts. Inside, natural materials like stone and wood take center stage, adding a warm, authentic touch to every space.
Here and there, contemporary touches—metal furniture, a light and natural palette—bring a fresh energy to the interiors. Large windows open onto a lush garden and stunning sea views, flooding the rooms with natural light. “Each room has been designed to offer a pleasant, harmonious experience where you instantly feel at home,” explain the owners.

“The Basque Country is a true playground for those who love nature and tradition,” say Gontzal and Txaber. And let’s not forget the local festivities—from the famous San Juan bonfires to the pintxos festivals, the Basque twist on tapas.
