With Les Bords du Lac, Iconic House reveals its vision of the Ocean House - a dreamy pied-à-terre, just a stone's throw from the most beautiful rollers of the Atlantic. A chic, sunny universe, resolutely Californian, brilliantly imagined by Dorothée Delaye.

Nestled between a tranquil lake and the lively town center, Villa Ortensa combines contemporary elegance with Landes tradition, creating an unforgettable retreat for families and friends.
A Landes-style villa in the heart of Hossegor
"What makes the villa truly unique in our eyes is its perfect location and exceptional comfort."
In the heart of Soorts-Hossegor, just four minutes from the town center and the lake, Villa Ortensa is a true haven of peace. Hossegor and Seignosse beaches are only a ten-minute bike ride away, and the house invites you to trade the car for barefoot walks or cycling. With 110 m² of living space set within an 800 m² garden, the villa comfortably hosts nine guests across three double bedrooms, a twin room and a three-bed dormitory.
“We wanted a place where our children could run freely, and where friends and family could feel completely at home,” the owners explain. The spacious, light-filled living area, complete with a fireplace, opens onto a covered terrace and a semi-inground heated pool available from May to October. A separate designer kitchen with a laundry area completes the living space, while the master suite, with its walk-in wardrobe, bathroom and private WC, offers moments of relaxation in complete privacy.
From the 1960s
to contemporary Landes charm
Built in the 1960s, the villa was completely redesigned and renovated in 2025 to combine modernity with the authenticity of the Landes. ‘We wanted the house to reflect the region without falling into pastiche,’ the owners explain. ‘Details such as the red bricks of the pool, the La Rhune stone used for the terrace, and the triangular niches brought exactly the charm we were looking for.’
The architecture remains true to the traditional codes of Landes houses, with subtle curves and wide openings that blur the line between indoors and outdoors. Inside, the villa embraces a 1950s to 1970s style, with speckled tiles, cream, butter and sky-blue tones, and olive-colored door handles, blending character with modern comfort.

“The perfect morning? A run around the lake or a sunrise surf session, followed by a stop at MITCHUT for a Landes pastis. And always a few crumbs left for the robins in the garden, who never miss their morning visit.”

Inside, the carefully curated décor blends modern design with nostalgic touches. Among the owners’ favorite details are the glass roof flooding the living room with light, the green-painted walls in some rooms, and the villa’s inviting kitchen. The bedrooms come with yoga mats and generous wardrobes, while the dormitory and twin room make it easy to accommodate children and teenagers comfortably.
The villa is fully equipped with fiber-optic internet. For younger guests, a travel cot, high chair and baby bath are available on request. Board games, a barbecue and the heated pool add to the experience. End-of-stay cleaning is included, and a local concierge ensures everything runs smoothly. The result is simple: guests can relax completely and enjoy their time without a single worry.
Surf, farniente
et mets locaux
A holiday in the Landes is perfect for sporty families and surf lovers, but also for those who simply enjoy slowing down. Sunrise surf sessions, breakfasts with Landes pastis (the region’s famous brioche) and barbecues in the garden: here, life moves with the sun and is shared with others.
