In the heart of the Puglian countryside, a villa where architecture blends seamlessly with the surrounding nature. The perfect hideaway for design-loving travellers seeking peace, sunshine, and the charm of Ostuni’s winding streets.
A villa nestled in the countryside of Ostuni
"The villa exudes a sense of calm and clarity – both minimal and warm, rooted in nature yet equipped with all the comforts of modern living."
Villa Sessana is the story of a serendipitous encounter. “The villa found me – I didn’t go looking for it,” says the owner, a passionate traveller with a love for authentic places. Just minutes from Ostuni’s historic centre, the house is surrounded by olive groves and dry-stone walls – classic Puglia at its finest.
From the outside, you’d be forgiven for thinking this modern home, completed in 2024, had always been there. Designed by Studiotoff, its architecture stays true to the spirit of the region while adding a refined contemporary touch. “It’s not a house that wants to stand out — it’s a house that belongs,” the architects explain.

that honors time

The story of Villa Sessana begins on land cultivated for generations, where time seems to slow down. When the owners first discovered this place, they felt an immediate connection with the landscape. Though newly built, the house pays tribute to the soul of the Puglian countryside. It’s designed to embrace stillness — a refuge from the rush of everyday life.
This wasn’t just a surface-level renovation, but a true dialogue with the land’s past. Local materials like Trani stone and green marble were carefully chosen, not only for their beauty but for their ability to harmonize with the region’s climate. The intention was clear: to create a space that unfolds naturally and invites deep relaxation.
An architecture
between minimalism and nature
The architect’s touch is clear in the villa’s clean, simple lines. While the design is fully modern, it doesn’t shout for attention. Instead, it quietly steps back and lets nature do the talking. “We wanted light, space, and the rhythm of the landscape to guide the design,” say the Studiotoff architects.
The house is made up of pure, unfussy volumes connected by wide openings that let sunlight pour in. Inside flows into outside with ease, as the living room spills onto the terrace and out into the garden. The result is calm, open, and quietly elegant. It’s the kind of place that feels good the moment you walk in, without trying too hard.

Quiet
luxury

The interior of Villa Sessana strikes a quiet balance between simplicity and sophistication. The owner explains he wanted warmth, but without the clutter. “Every piece was chosen with care, but nothing is there just for show,” he says.
Raw materials like green marble, Trani stone, and soft plaster give each room a natural, understated elegance. The furniture is a thoughtful mix of vintage finds and design pieces, adding personality without ever stealing the scene. The spaces are bright and calm, especially in the main bedroom, where the morning light pours in and makes everything feel just a little bit sacred.
“Beauty invites us to slow down and pay attention. It’s a graceful reflection on how what moves us can make us more present, more generous, more awake to the world. A humble meditation, much like the spirit of the villa itself.”

Holidays
in Puglia
Ostuni, the famous “White City,” is just a few kilometers from Villa Sessana. With its narrow streets and whitewashed houses, this postcard-perfect village is the kind of place that makes you want to get lost. After a day of exploring, we’re back at the villa in time for a sunset aperitivo.
The golden beaches of Puglia are only a short drive away — ideal for winding down after a morning at the markets, where you’ll find fresh cheese, good wine, and olive oil worth bringing home.
And when the mood strikes, the historic towns of Alberobello and Lecce are close enough for a spontaneous detour. Around here, nature sets the rhythm. It’s all about calm days, simple pleasures, and moments that feel exactly as they should.
