Perched on a sun drenched hill, this jewel of the Périgord region brings together medieval history, Renaissance charm, and contemporary luxury.
A castle where history blends with modern comfort
"Here, you can enjoy open-air cinema, poolside barbecues, gourmet dinners, wine tastings..."
Château de Chanet is history in layers. This medieval castle has lived many lives, rebuilt during the Renaissance and again in the eighteenth century. In 1999, it was acquired by the owner of the Domaine de Vieux Mareuil collection, opening a new chapter marked by careful and respectful renovations. Today, it rises proudly on its hilltop, offering sweeping views over the valley and the surrounding woods.
With fourteen hectares of grounds and one thousand eight hundred and fifty square metres of living space, it offers guests a truly grand escape. The interior has been designed for moments of sharing and relaxation, with two spacious lounges, a fully modern kitchen, an elegant dining room, and even a relaxed billiard room. At night, eleven bedrooms welcome up to twenty two guests, including seven with en suite bathrooms and four interconnected rooms, ideal for families or groups of friends looking for a stay that is both comfortable and spectacular.
An owner
with a passion for heritage

The highlight of Château de Chanet? The panoramic views over the countryside.
Behind this renaissance is Laetitia Morlat, a native of the region who returned to her beloved Périgord after travelling the world. Guided by a desire to contribute to local life, she chose to open five residences that reflect the identity of the area, among them Château de Chanet.
The true turning point came with the 2020 renovation. The ambition was clear: “to complete the restoration of the interior spaces, blending authenticity with modern luxury.” The mission was brilliantly achieved. The castle has kept every bit of its historical soul while offering all the comfort of contemporary living. This alchemy, the owners explain, is what makes the château so exceptional: preserving the authenticity of the place while welcoming a refined sense of modern comfort.
Where medieval history
meets modern comfort
At first glance, you are instantly transported into the past. Château de Chanet has proudly preserved its period features: machicolations, those openings once used for defence, a square tower crowned with battlements, dry moats, and wall openings that bear witness to former gunports. Inside, massive wooden doors and ancient staircases quietly recount the history of the place.
The décor is a triumph, blending warmth and modernity with remarkable harmony. The spirit of the château has been carefully protected. One of its greatest treasures is its collection of fully restored wall paintings and ceilings, which bring back the motifs and designs of earlier centuries and add a historical depth to its contemporary elegance.
The highlights are many. Beyond the splendid frescoes, the terrace that circles the top of the tower offers breathtaking views. And perhaps the most unforgettable sight of all is the view from the pool with the château rising in the background, a scene so striking it feels made for a postcard.

Life like royalty.
The gentle
Périgordian life
Château de Chanet welcomes every kind of guest, whether families, groups of friends, or cyclists who quickly discover that the region is a true paradise for them. Some choose to remain on site and soak in the atmosphere of the ancient stone walls, while others are enthusiastic food loving explorers who enjoy nature, gastronomy, wine, sport, and heritage. And they are right to indulge, because the activities on site rise fully to the level of the setting. There is a heated pool with magnificent views and a padel court for those who enjoy a bit of friendly competition.
In the surrounding area, guests can explore the charming town of Brantôme, often called the Green Venice, visit the Villars caves, wander through local markets, or enjoy canoeing, hiking, cycling, and horseback riding.
