On Brittany’s wild Finistère coast, in the heart of the charming port of Doëlan, a holiday home with stunning views of the ocean and the island of Groix. A seaside escape full of crêpes and sea spray—perfect for family tribes, groups of friends, or city dwellers in search of fresh sea air and peace of mind.
Fresh Breton air with a sea view
"Perched just one row back from the sea, the house offers breathtaking views of the ocean, Groix Island, and the ever-changing dance of passing boats — all just steps from the coastal path and the authentic harbor of Doëlan."
“It’s not the house that’s exceptional – it’s the location,” says Anaëlle, who owns the Lodge de Keruster with her husband Bastien. And indeed, it’s hard not to fall under the spell of this spectacular setting: perched just one row back from the Atlantic, with Doëlan’s iconic green lighthouse a stone’s throw away, the Lodge watches the boats set off on their journeys and the walkers pass by along the coastal path, like a living theatre.
With its smartly designed three levels, the house comfortably accommodates up to eight guests across four bedrooms and two bathrooms. A spacious living area opens onto the sea, and a terrace invites salty-apéritifs with an ocean breeze. Life here flows seamlessly between indoors and out — lulled by the sound of the waves or warmed by underfloor heating when the wind picks up. Between the secluded, enclosed garden, a balcony made for sunset-watching, a barbecue for seafood feasts, and plenty of kid-friendly features (yes, there’s even a slide), everyone finds their slice of happiness.

A renovation
between salt and waxed concrete
It’s no coincidence that Anaëlle and Bastien chose to put down roots in Doëlan — Anaëlle was born here! Splitting their time between Switzerland and Brittany, they were looking for a home base where they could unwind and soak in the sea air. That’s when they came across a 1930s house that would become the Lodge de Keruster, named after the village’s neighborhood.
Between managing the project from afar, countless calls to the town hall for permits, and Brittany’s famously unpredictable weather, the renovation was no walk in the park. But the result speaks for itself: a warm, storm-resistant home built with carefully chosen materials, insulation that stands up to the westerly winds, and a soul that remains untouched. “We did everything to make sure everyone would have their own space and be able to live at their own pace.” Mission accomplished!
"Whether you're a family with kids, a group of friends, a surfer, a city-dweller seeking nature, or an adventurer at heart, the house has something for everyone." (plus inclusif et chaleureux)

A decor
between sea, wood and minimalism

Here, there’s no over-the-top décor or fishing nets on the walls — the style is all about simplicity. “We wanted the focus to be on the sea,” says Anaëlle. White dominates, letting the light flood in, while carefully chosen details add character: designer lamps, a few bird figurines, a bold painting in the stairwell, and a large window overlooking the garden.
Soft fabrics, raw wood, and the view… always there, like a living painting. Special mention goes to the master suite, where you wake up to the sea and the call of the gulls. “When a storm rolls in, it feels like you’re inside a lighthouse. Guests love it — surprisingly so,” Anaëlle adds with a smile.
Beach, galettes
and fishing
Brittany quickly wins you over! Staying at the Lodge de Keruster, the GR34 coastal trail is just nearby for casual walkers and seasoned hikers alike who want to explore hidden coves and cliffs. Just a two-minute stroll away, the port of Doëlan offers fresh oysters, langoustines straight off the boat, and charming little restaurants. Feeling adventurous? Head to Le Pouldu for surfing, Groix Island for boat excursions, or one of the two golf courses less than 30 minutes away.
If you’re in the mood for a market basket and an aperitif on the terrace, there’s no shortage of great spots. Anaëlle shares her favorites: Chez Jacky in Bélon or Le Vivier in Lomener for a seafood feast, La Crêperie Saint-Maurice in Clohars-Carnoët for the best buckwheat galette, and Chez Chouchou in Quimperlé for toasting with a sea view… Meanwhile, while the grown-ups indulge, kids can gallop at one of the nearby riding centers, swim on sandy beaches, or build sandcastles.
