The perfect Norman getaway

"The atmosphere here is very serene and cozy. You feel at ease in the houses, where you'll want to stay."

Tucked away in the lush Norman countryside, Les Maisons Pommes—Maison Chaume, Maison Ardoise, and Les 3 Fresnes—look like something out of a fairy tale. The setting? Thatched roofs, timber-framed walls, apple trees heavy with fruit, and a landscape of endless green.

Perfectly renovated by a passionate and inspired trio, the three buildings—set within a sprawling 9,000 m² garden with two swimming pools—are ideal for hosting large groups. The spacious thatched house, Les 3 Fresnes, spans 207 m², while Maison Chaume and Maison Ardoise, situated opposite each other, offer 65 m² and 73 m² of cozy living space, respectively.

The fabulous story
of the Maisons Pommes

Les Maisons Pommes have a rich history! Maison Chaume, for example, dates back to 1791 and was originally a farmhouse belonging to a manor before later becoming a guesthouse. Today, the estate is in the hands of three dedicated owners: Clara and Vincent, a young couple, and Xavier, a master carpenter. Their shared journey began with the acquisition of these three houses, driven by the desire to breathe new life into them while preserving their authentic charm.

Vincent, already managing Les 3 Fresnes, wanted to add his personal touch to the estate, working alongside Clara, an artistic director who envisioned the identity of the gîtes, and Xavier, who led the renovation. Together, they created a place where traditional Norman architecture meets modern comfort. The homes feature exposed timber framing, seamlessly blending the rustic charm of thatch with the softness of stone. Every detail has been carefully considered to preserve the estate’s authenticity while ensuring spacious, light-filled interiors equipped with all the modern amenities needed for a comfortable stay.

A fresh look
for a new life

The renovation of the buildings, carried out by the owners in 2022, was a true labor of love. Their goal? To modernize the interiors while preserving the old-world charm that makes Les Maisons Pommes so special. Each room was thoughtfully designed, using natural materials and carefully curated décor sourced from flea markets and antique dealers in Honfleur, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Maison Chaume and Maison Ardoise each have their own distinct yet complementary feel, featuring wooden furniture, leather sofas, and decor elements that reflect the family’s history—every detail chosen with care. Subtle Mediterranean touches, such as niches carved into white walls, add to their unique character.

Meanwhile, Les 3 Fresnes stays true to the essence of a classic Norman country house, embracing traditional charm with a timeless elegance. The result? The moment you step inside, it feels like home.

For remote work in a peaceful green setting, Maison Ardoise offers a dedicated space with a counter and high chairs, overlooking the garden through a large window. When the sun is out, life revolves around the pools and the barbecue, creating the perfect setting for shared moments. Beyond the estate, the region offers plenty to explore—scenic hikes through the Norman countryside, visits to the historic D-Day landing beaches, and strolls through charming towns like Honfleur and Deauville.
