In the Landes, a wooden villa nestled among dunes, pines, and the ocean

"There is a spirit of freedom here. Luxury is, above all, about space, living indoors and outdoors to feel free."

Halfway between Bayonne and Arcachon, Contis-Plage—voted the second most beautiful beach in France by The Guardian—is a favorite among surf enthusiasts and lovers of marine beauty. For a peaceful stay, Villa Helemana is the perfect choice!

This stunning 340m² wooden villa stands amidst fine sandy dunes, just minutes from the beach, accommodating up to 14 guests. Revel in good times by the ocean, a green Bissaza-tiled pool, a game of pétanque, the garden, and a hot tub. It's the perfect spot for a vacation filled with surfing and refreshing waters!

Like a
family affair

As a child, Marc—now the owner of Villa Helemana—enjoyed large family gatherings and joyful afternoons in the Landes with his siblings. Inspired by these memories, he envisioned a spacious house perfect for accommodating large groups. This home allows everyone to enjoy their own space before gathering for convivial moments in the well-equipped, expansive kitchen, one of the large living rooms, or the sunny terrace. Here, guests can come together without ever feeling crowded!

Built in 2022 on a (large) sandy plot, the villa's charm could have suffered from its young age. Instead, it feels like a beautifully renovated old family home, thanks to its decor—a subtle blend of family heirlooms and vintage 70s pieces found locally. The bright orange leather sofa, reminiscent of a 70s nightclub, is particularly striking. We love this delightfully retro atmosphere that gives the beach villa its unique character. As Marc puts it, "We had it 'aged'," a Landes expression meaning to make a new piece look seasoned—an apt description for Villa Helemana.

In the living room, vintage and contemporary pieces—particularly the mesh chandeliers by designer Stéphanie Clerc—come together.

"In Hawaiian, Mana signifies both the divine and the future. Hele Mana means to go towards the gods, a sign of good fortune and striving for something better."

In this wooden villa, inspired by the oyster shacks of Arcachon, life follows the rhythm of the light from dawn to dusk. "With no shade around, time seems to fly by, making vacation days feel blissfully endless. It’s like an eternal summer sun." The villa exudes a poetic and spiritual ambiance, enhancing its undeniable good vibes. Our favorite moment? Early morning, watching the sunrise before hitting the waves for a perfect surf session.

The end of the day isn’t too shabby either! After returning from the beach, the transition to the evening is gentle. The terrace, designed as a true extension of the home, allows you to continue enjoying the beach vibe: savor the sunset at a leisurely pace, just like the guests. In harmony with nature, life at Villa Helemana mirrors the garden flowers, which close their petals as the sun sets. And then, it’s the same thing the next day, for a vacation you wish could last forever!

Attentive care
from evening to morning

From start to finish at Villa Helemana, a concierge ensures that guests want for nothing. Breakfast—buffet style, of course—is served on demand, along with grocery runs, yoga classes, and activities with local artisans. Everything is perfectly arranged for a seamless vacation!

With peace of mind, guests can then explore the region. Head south along the coast to Hossegor, another popular surf spot, or set your course north to Biscarrosse and its expansive white sandy beaches. Back in Contis, guests will appreciate the charm of this quaint, "more laid-back and wild" resort compared to its neighbors, as the happy owner of Villa Helemana describes it.

KindaHouse

With its white facade, light-filled interiors, and Mediterranean plants, KindaHouse has a touch of Greece to it. A true gem just 200 meters from the beach, perfect for six surf enthusiasts, where the crafts of the Landes region take center stage.

A contemporary patio area with two open sliding doors. The left door reveals a kitchen and dining area with wooden furniture and modern decor. The right door shows a glimpse of a cozy, dimly lit bedroom with an abstract painting on the wall.

Saubion

This elevated house, located on the edge of the forest just 15 minutes from Hossegor, is a modern interpretation of a treehouse. An ultra-enchanting slowlife experience in the heart of the Landes canopy.
